The Hollow Pig Russell Edson

A butcher had hollowed out a pig to make himself a pig costume. Then he had a pile of pig insides.

As he crawled into the hollow pig he was trying to have pig thoughts to complete his costume, and at the same time trying to think of what to do with all the pig’s insides.

He thought he might hollow out another pig and stuff it with the first pig’s insides. But then what to do with the insides of the second pig, hollow out a third?

No, no, for once started he’d have to hollow out every pig in the world, and still wind up without a place to put the insides of the last pig. . . .
